Nanclares, A Graña 2022

Alberto Nanclares is an Albariño winemaker like no other. Farming a tiny 2.2 hectare plot (split into 12 parcels) in the Rías Baixas, he is solely devoted to this gorgeous grape variety. After a few years of conventional farming, he decided to abandon chemical treatments altogether and became fully biodynamic. His vineyards, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, benefit from daily sea breezes while the granitic soils bring incredible minerality and freshness to his wines. Simply put: Alberto makes serious wines for serious winelovers. A Graña 2022 is made from, unsurprisingly, 100% Albariño vines aged over 30 years old and planted in shallow, sandy loam soils. Hand-harvested and aged on its lees for 11-months, it is saline & refreshing, utterly elegant and a proper age-worthy Albariño. The palate is bright and pure, with the classic stony minerality combining with notes of zesty lemon and a vibrant finish. Delicious with salty seafood and salads.
